Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine made a huge splash at the Indian box office during its opening weekend. It collected an impressive total of nearly Rs 65 crore in just 3 days, putting it in a comfortable position to hit the hundred mark. After such a debut, the masterpiece was expected to maintain its position on the first day of the week. Let’s find out how it fared on Day 4!

The MCU blockbuster grossed Rs 21 crore on Friday, making it the fourth-biggest Hollywood release in India in the post-COVID era. After such a start, the film showed a jump on Saturday and added another Rs 22.68 crore. On Sunday, there was a dip during the evening runs, resulting in a collection of Rs 20.87 crore. In all, a total of Rs 64.55 crore was amassed in 3 days.

On Day 4, Deadpool & Wolverine was expected to see a drop of 50% or a little more to total Rs 9-10 crore, considering the positive word of mouth. However, a much bigger drop was seen today and while evening shows are still going on at some places, the first Monday collections are closing in 7-8 crores.

Compared to the opening day, which collected Rs 21 crore, this is a drop of 66.66-61.90%, which is more than expected. This is usually the case with almost all the big Marvel films that release early in the season; after a spectacular start, the films usually fall in the weekdays with a bigger than expected drop, only to pick up again on the weekends. Even Deadpool and Wolverine are expected to follow the same pattern, so there is nothing alarming about the drop.

7-8 crores is still a good figure for the first working day, and considering that, Deadpool and Wolverine’s total at the Indian box office stands at 71.55-72.55 crores (all languages) after 4 days.
