hey there fellow Travelers Mark here with walers world and today let’s see where we are in the globe oh we’re in our library we’re home right now before some more fun stuff coming up and anyway to I want to talk about you know one I want to answer your travel questions we’re gonna be on about an hour so if I can help answer some travel questions because I know we’re getting into the deep start of travel season now all the kids are out of school pretty soon probably today all the schools in Europe yesterday their last day of school so everybody started to travel July 1 than will get nuts okay so even more nuts than it’s been which is crazy to hear but I want to talk about some of the things you can look out for this summer um but specifically I want to you know answer your questions but also when you’re looking for place to stay you know a lot of times people look for apartment rentals they’re like hey what should I look for in my reviews and we have a new video that be coming out soon going really in depth into what to look for in Airbnb reviews so you can make sure you get the right you know apartment rental but the thing is is airbnbs vrbos they do have an impact on the communities you stay at so do be aware of that um and there’s you know hotels sometimes are a better option but I know sometimes you just want to have that house to yourself and I’m not going to fault you for that we do the same thing so I’m G to talk about some of those um before we get questions start like coming in and things but or oh G josin so all of them there you go Eric B 27 months of wants to know hey Mark what’s your preferred airlin so uh Delta is my preferred airline in the US I fly with him uh for the most part I mean they’re not the Delta of 2018 is not the Delta of 2024 so it’s not as great as it is it us to be but it’s still better than lot of the other options so we still fly with them probably the most uh going abroad and flying domestically um however when I travel around there’s a lines I don’t mind like fin air I find to be very very rewarding flying with them though they have limited routes because it’s you know via you know Finland so kind of goes a little bit out of the way we’re usually going uh so I can’t use that too often British Airways I always like them uh let’s see for the lowcost in Europe I think my favorite is EasyJet uh for those so a lot of a lot of different ones I like to use so we got all kinds of stuff after all these years are you’re not bothered of dumb questions no I’m not because here’s the thing for people like it may be a dumb question to some people for the people that ask it something they really need to know and if I can help people out you know I want to help them out so it’s okay if I get the same question all the time it’s kind of like you know people like Walter I’m like hey that’s totally fine it’s Mark’s my name I said in the beginning of every video but it’s all good don’t worry don’t worry hey Dudley good to see you get back to work I understand anyway um so today’s like theme that’s we’re going to talk about every so often um is going to be about you know Airbnb reviews and I think one thing you really need to remember is anytime you’re going to be looking to rent whether it’s Airbnb VRBO heck any hotel it’s really important you read the reviews and the thing is when you have a site like Airbnb you review the property but the property also reviews you as someone that stays there so therefore people might not be as fully honest with those Airbnb reviews uh because they’re worried that they might get a bad review themselves so there is some kind of influence there so I think every single time you read a review on one of these sites where the guest gets rated as well always take what they say with a grain of salt or try to read between the lines because the thing is there’s words you really need to look for in these reviews that kind of gives an idea like I always say look for clean location safety bed you know communication noise words like that in there you can search that like they have the filters to let you search reviews and see what people talk about right because you want to know is it noisy is the host communitive because here’s one of the issues a lot of people you know back in the day the airbnbs and verbos and stuff A lot of times it was like oh people live it’s their home or people live in that community community and they’re ready the place out but now you have a lot of corporate owners you people that own you know air BBS all around the world and you’re just calling a number and that person might be in a completely different country they’re trying to get help and that’s why it’s important to know hey if something goes wrong are they there like how is that check in you know because sometimes it’s just a service that doesn’t for them and that’s something you would need to know you know because I mean there’s been times we actually got locked out of a a lodge we stayed at it was a cabin and we couldn’t get back in and the the number that was there no one was answered and somehow I got through to the owner who happened to be at dinner in Portland Oregon and this is in Kentucky okay they’re in Portland Oregon and I’m like hey yeah we’re locked out they’re like how’d you get this number I’m like I don’t know but I my my kid is locked in your your thing we can’t get it in and I don’t want to break a window get in but we’re gonna have to and they kind of like walked us through it you know but the person was nowhere to be found and that took so many times to get to that that you really got to make sure it’s like how’s that communication but looking for some of those key words is really important when you’re doing this okay so that that’s kind of the first thing I want to say is like just start looking through those reviews and look for those key wordss you know the cleanly like clean because sometimes you’re not sure how to look for but you know like I know for us there’s one is like very attentive extremely attentive like there’s attentiveness extremely attentive extremely attentive might be a bit too much you know I’ve talked about our our experience in Connecticut with the Airbnb there where the owners were literally like Looking Through the Windows like it was very disturbing kind of stuff you know and like when I read through reviews later I’m like oh yes they are very attentive always there you know so that was kind of one of the things you you want to kind of look for so do be aware that kind of read between the lines and things because it can be a difference between a good stay or something you need to worry about so oh thank you travel free 2019 I appreciate the Super Chat I went to Tokyo last month in Osaka for seven full days not counting travel days amazing time in Tokyo but one week was not enough two to three spin yeah because Tokyo for those you know you can’t really understand just how large Tokyo is I mean it is literally like the Midlands of England like completely there like the north of it’s just huge and there’s all these different parts of the city you want to go see and so when you’re going there it literally is like you might need two days in each section you want to go to and that can really start to you know take a lot of time and you know when you think of your trips like oh you know 10 days you know split go Tokyo and Kyoto to Osaka and you’re like dang it I needed more time because there’s so much mean I still remember there was a street we went to in Tokyo that all it had was like the plastic version of food and you go to restaurants in Japan you’ll see that like plastic version of the food outside so you’re not sure what you’re gonna get like I don’t read Japanese I can’t decipher Japanese but I can look outside and take a picture of like I want that one it works really well so you’d see like the Scooby-Doo sandwiches you know like this big kind of stuff or the walk where the it’s like a wave of rice coming over it was pretty fantastic stuff I mean we actually got a noodle thing I’ll show it to you we actually had a noodle thing we got is a souvenir which is like like this it’s like oh you get to see what the food looks like you know like oh it’s got some other stuff in there you know I mean it’s it’s kind of cool and you make it yourself but those kind of those things like we literally spent like two hours just looking at that like my gosh how did I lose so much time but yeah travel freak Tokyo is awesome Tyler cool guy 88 good to see you Greg do you have any theories why so many planes in the US are delayed recently seem to be maintenance well you had Boeing that had I mean I don’t know I have no idea but I know but the like Boeing’s had some really big issues lately and I’m going to guess maybe people just being extra safe I mean or it could be they’re just blaming it on that maybe they don’t have a a flight attendant there or a pilot there or something I can’t get things so it’s easier to say oh it’s a maintenance issue don’t worry you’ll be fine so it could be something like that but I I honestly don’t know Greg Travis thank you very much for the Super Chat I have a trip to Scotland’s plan but I’d rather not rent a car am I doomed or can I still have fun yes you can still have fun so my first three times in Scotland I did not have a car and I still got to go around you can take the trains and the buses it’s just harder to get some of like the out of the way um castles and stuff but you can s for tours to take you places but you can get pretty much everywhere you want to go uh with public transportation so don’t worry Travis you’ll be okay um because I know sometimes it can be a bit scary and here’s one thing you might be there then decide you know what I I feel okay to rent a car for a day or two and maybe you rent a car just to go see the a of sky and drive around the a of sky and just do that then it’s only one day rental instead of like a week long rental you have to worry about parking it’s l like I pick it up in the morning I go see it I come back drive it off drop it off by six or whatever that could be something might be a little bit more helpful for you if you want but yeah you’re fine don’t you worry my friend don’t you worry why do you have so many Lonely Planet books when you are so much must must most experienced so those those are literally some of those are from the early 2000s even the the 90s probably so that those ones I haven’t bought a Lonely Planet for quite some time uh but I still like to read through them because I actually like to read the History part of the countries before I go because reading about the history of the country start you understand a little bit more about like how people act and what is important to them and where you can like upset people not upset people so that’s why it’s there so I have those and some are helpful like we do J likes the uh the National Geographic these ones over here I if you can see those the National Geographic ones are really good for like like they’re not good for traveling but they’re good for like understanding culture so I I really big into culture and understand that when I go so that’s why I have those ones hey Ryan good to see you there don’t worry I have big thumbs I mess up on spelling all the time I need gota gota get back on my diet been having we’ve been traveling a lot this summer like I was great and it was like seven weeks of traveling and like oh I forgot when you’re into a workout routine when you’re working out like five or six days a week and eating super healthy and then you go travel yeah so I gotta get back on this I got one more trip one more trip then not do that we’re back on it for the fall uh so hopefully I could lose some more weight for the fall so any yeah Lisa hey I hope you’re doing well in Ireland we uh I was just back there with my mom actually we were in we did we were in gallway for I don’t know like week and then around there and then we’re ding for a few days so she got a few things my mom wanted to get back to IR she hadn’t been there I didn’t realize my mom hadn’t been to Ireland since like the 90s so she’s like could we maybe go there I’m like sure so uh we went and did that so I have some more fun uh Ireland stuff I filmed uh so I I have this new series um like why are the Germans so weird like germanisms and I’ve got I’m editing right now the Dutch isms like what the Dutch so you know what’s it’s kind of like not the shocky ones but it’s like the silly little culture things you notice in places so that’s that that’s what I think you’re gonna like when that one comes out so you have to let me know if it’s okay let’s see Martin wants to know best city or town in Texas to experience a Texan Vibe and culture uh San Antonio San Antonio is my favorite City there and then you can go from there up to Fredericksburg and you go to the Hill Country the wine country is that’s really pretty there but San Antonio that would be that would be the one I’d say if you’re going to go to one place it’s that one like Dallas the Metroplex there it’s too chaotic too much too much going on too big too much traffic G not worth it San Antonio that’s me hey Garcia hope you’re doing good glad you can be on okay so Eric uh in terms of the food and pan M obviously the seafood stuff but in bar you have the Yeti the ear pasta that’s a popular one there um I actually have a video the poano Amare video I have a Don of Pano Mar that actually has some food stuff in there so Eric check that one out because on the top of my head I’m I’m drawing a blank right now there’s I mean I’m seeing the rest there’s an octopus thing you’re supposed to have I’m seeing the restaurant you’re supposed to go to like I know exactly I see it in my mind but I can’t remember the name because you know just like my hair my memory is disappearing oh Avery good to see you hey Welter world so everyone’s running to their favorite summer destinations I’m looking to avoid the crowd so where how do you plan a contrarian vacation go to Central America go to South America no one’s there like you know people it’s funny people will get on me they’re like oh you just do Europe Mark I’m like well actually we have like 500 videos for Central and South America that they get literally like on10th one 100th view of our European videos because people aren’t going there they don’t see our videos for going there whatever and and like we were just in Chile in Brazil and there were like Brazilian tourists that was it there’s nobody else like so we really had all this stuff to ourselves so you just got to choose like contrarian destinations where people aren’t usually thinking about going and I think that’s one of the big things when you do that you get a really fun time you get to meet the locals a lot better I mean some people don’t care about meeting locals but for me that’s one of my favorite parts of doing it that’s why you know I had my video that the most friendly places I’ve been the most unfriendly places I’ve been because it’s one of those things that really kind of resonates with me hg51 thank you very much for the Super Chat my favorite Travel Channel which one thank you any tips for living between the US for nine months and Paris for the other three um okay so one of the things when you’re looking at one of these like going off and on and living for a place is what do you do with your stuff those three months you’re not home or the nine months when you’re not at home depending where home is um that’s one of those things is finding if you if you’re like in a college town if you can find like a grad student that needs like one semester left and they could live in your place for those three months that’ll keep your place safer in general but if you don’t care about leaving your stuff empty one of the things that’s tough is like if you’re in the US um you can only hold your mail for one month at a time otherwise has to be forwarded and if you don’t have a for an address it can be interesting so that’ll be one of those maybe you have it held for a month and then you have it delivered for a week and then held for another month but you tell like your neighbor or whatever hey could you pick up my mail form um that would be one thing I would be looking at um another thing I would think about is you know the store in your stuff is one but also like in terms of the financial side of it your phone side of it you know you can get a phone plan that will work anywhere in the world like you might want to get like an eim just so that number Works wherever uh that might be something to look into um and if you’re gonna be three months in Paris uh I would probably get a local SIM card there you can do the eim or get a local SIM card if you have WhatsApp you’re okay okay because that works for anywhere but those are some that I think would be good for you H go I’m jealous jelly jelly jelly Mark right here you have a great time you’re have fun so kinos hey I’m going to Peru this summer and since I’m a young guy hey I plan on going out and partying a bit good I like it I like it how your night life experience has been in Latin America any safety tips uh don’t let your drink out of your sight also if they have what’s called a consumption card where you go in they give you a card and you put everything on this card do not lose it because you could drink and die of the drinking versus what they’re going to charge you if you lose that card also if anyone comes up to you because if you’re by yourself there’s gonna be a young lady that’s gonna come up or two or three they’re like hey would you get can you get me a drink sh and you’ll be like oh order what you want and they’ll be like the special drink that the lady will order which will be like a $50 drink when everything else is 50 Cents so just have a heads up for that so I hope that can help you out but like the partying the dancing the fun you you have a good time Dean I have a six-month old it’s is it hard to travel with them actually it’s six months it’s great because they don’t go around it’s when they start walking around that’s what things get a little more complicated but it’s six months we love travel with our kids when they’re little when they’re babies because you just have your little pumpkin seat you can get them a seat on the plane and put the pumpkin seat in there and they can do that then you have it for when you’re going to get in the cars so you have that so don’t don’t let it keep you from traveling with the little ones you know people tell you oh they won’t remember well you’ll remember so so that’s kind of helpful and and she I mean this lady here might know a few things about you know you want to add something to Daphne’s about the six-month old hi so um I encourage you to travel with six Monon builds because it’s easy but um actually if you’re flying um a lot of planes have um in the bulkhead where that like wall is they actually have bassinets and when you buy your tickets you can request that and tell them that you have an a small baby um I think our kids fit in there until about 14 15 months old our kids are kind of tiny because of her um anyway so that may be a really great option for you um I also encourage you to get a Baby Bjorn if you’re going to do the um child on your lap because that makes it easy for you to tote them around in the airport and things and when you’re going into sight scene um the one thing with the Baby Bjorn or any kind of carrier um when you have them on your front when you’re taking off and you’re Landing you have to unstrap that which is counterintuitive I don’t really quite understand it the idea is you will crush the baby I’m like well but the baby’s crushed on you and not flying in the cabin but whatever so there are certain rules about that um also the other great thing if you’re traveling with small people and I literally stop people in the airport and tell them this when I see them lugging around Giant um car seats and things if you have a full siiz like upright um car seat they make these great little uh I don’t know it’s like a telescopic CLE and like with a little shelf so well but baby Goos is out of business now oh unfortunately but there are other ones but look for a telescopic handle that and you can just wheel your kid around drag them like a piece of luggage our children loved it all the way through T and and everybody waves at them and they wave back they have oh yeah they think it’s great hey 70 hope you’re doing well I not see my students have jobs hopefully well you live in Dallas so finger crossed you do have a job so I’m glad the Stock Yards are really cool yeah so Tyler cool guy who’s been forever my uncle who still thinks you’re on a why would I be on a green screen that’s my big thing I don’t do the green screen stuff his son and I are thinking about going to Houston next spring and he tests what to eat drink so Houston I’m not the biggest fan of Houston there’s some there’s some good museums there the traffic the traffic though um you guys can head out to Galviston which which is kind of a like it’s an easy day trip like easy day trip I would do that probably if you’re going to be there just get to the beach the beach isn’t like clean water kind of stuff because how the drainage comes so it’s not like dirty water it just you see you think it you see when you drive through you see all the refineries you’re like wait is this like polluted water like no it’s just the dirt it’s not it’s just the dirt that’s there texme dude obviously yes D some tequila so David wants to know would you sell your house to travel the world with your kids no we we we we uh we don’t we we still travel the world with kids without selling our house I know like a lot of people like we sold everything to see the world and I’m like and I can understand doing that when you’re younger but yeah I’m old and she’s young um but for a day for a day we but also you know for us it was retirement and insurance and you know like our future and so having a home base was really important for us so canid asked a good question why are hostiles so grimy in the US um honestly that is one of those things the US has probably the grossest hostels of anywhere I’ve been in the world I found the the best hostels I stayed out were in South America um but Europe used to be like the dorm room with 19 bed stuff but now there’s a lot that have their own like rooms in it now so that’s gotten a lot better and for people of different ages you think they’re just for young people but there are a lot now um that are kind of catering to an older crowd um and also people are mixing a little bit more and some people are really feel vly like how wrong that is but I think it’s kind of great because we learn things from different generations and I think it’s a great thing yeah excuse me and there’s one oh will hey will hope you’re doing well what’s the most spontaneous last minute trip you’ve ever planned so I believe it was the summer of4 10 years ago this year it was uh J’s birthday and we were out having din at least this from my perspective there’s been other Crazy Ones I’m sure but we were at dinner eating out you know and you see all these uh Instagram reals now like oh you know eating outdoors in Europe versus eating outdoors in the us and we’re literally sitting on the seat next to cars going by and it was her birthday I’m like why why are we doing this for you just go someplace and so we literally went home the kids were little so we literally went home packed the bags the next day we spent the next six weeks driving from Illinois to Florida to Prince Edward Island in Canada to Toronto back around and it was like I think it came it was just shy of 5,000 around it and say it was 5,000 m road trip and it was wild and amazing and I do it again in a heartbeat yeah it was fun excuse me it’s hi cost I think you got that the difficulty because we answering a question before everybody says hi okay e Dan I saw your video regarding the railway explores in Vegas and want to know if he recommend it and if you have any other things for Vegas my girlfriend is in there for the first time so I actually have a video on like free things to do inas Vegas there’s some free stuff you can do I have that there’s that video um it was worth we had a good time doing that with our friends um I thought it was worth it yeah no I think it was definitely worth it that was it was a good time and we had great people to go with yeah um turn it up world look up turn it up World they have all kinds of great Vegas stuff they’re like the Vegas bloggers they super yeah they’re super fun um hey Mark long long time first time I was wondering where to go before having kids down to Peru Switzerland mixed with October Fest or South Africa Cape Town than Safari would love the Intel so um as far as Switzerland goes definitely go there before you have kids because um no joke they hate children I mean we were followed around a museum Caleb and I um like as if though we were art thieves it was horrific um Peru we did with our children and they loved it I mean they’ve got to be able to like walk and get around on their own pretty well but you can do that with them um but they also if you want to like hike kid Trail then do it before you have kids October Fest just because it’s wild yes do it before you have kids but it’s okay with older kids I think like well you can yeah you can take it if you go there with your kids I would go earlier in the day um because at night everything’s booked out so you space but like we have to understand October Fest isn’t just the beer huls like there are food games stuff outside so you can take your kids it’s for it’s a family event I remember the first time I went my friend I we literally sat across these two like 85y old Germans this they they they come in and he had his half liter beer and she had her like little tiny beer they just had it was just so cute like yeah we’ve come every year since like forever so it’s uh I will say take your children on Safari that was an incredible family trip I mean kids it’s like live zoo I mean you kind of can’t get better um than to take your kids on Safari but they have to be old enough to know that you know you don’t get out of the Jeep and you know the safety things so but I would definitely do that yeah so John and Cara retired Travelers awesome any recommendation for booking trains in the UK saying in nine cities North and South we going for two months this fall that’s awesome God no e what I get a get a car well no for two months though that’s that’s expensive to run a car for two months it is really expensive um so what I would say what you have to realize there’s a lot of different uh we actually have a don’t of taking the train in England video that would be very helpful for you to watch that there’s tons of stuff on there but I think the big thing get to realize is there’s a lot of different companies uh that are that do the train in England so you got to make sure you get the right company you’re buying from the right place but there is like a central like website you can go to and it’ll get it’ll get you to the right place you have that you’re GNA have to download the apps just make your life easier for it uh one thing I would say is don’t expect to have a lot of space I know you’re going for two months but Pack Light because there’s not not there’s no room there’s very little room like when I go I’m like carryon and my backpack and that’s it and I I do okay but you have those bigger suitcases aren’t going to cut it so do be aware of that okay so I hope that can help uh yes I can VI outside of England for Mid October it was our favorite place I tried asking the last week but miswrote it okay so for those you know the cells the cells are all these little tiny villages in the south east west no sorry west of England kind near the kind near Wales and they are just the cutest little tiny towns and you got you you could do tours of them a lot of times they’ll do tours from lond it’ll take you there or Stratford you can do that but there’s all these little things you spend like you know a half hour Andes a little Villages walking around the churches it’s cute as can be I mean you really feel like you’re in insert any any essential British TV show yes but like based murderers but based in like the 50s yeah that’s what it’s like like you’re like oh and it’s just like I really like it I actually have Father Brown Mysteries yes so I did I did um I was just there in the C wals May in May and I filmed I have dun of cot wals it’ll probably come out it’ll come out later because that that one I filmed in all different parts so it’s a little more complicated to edit together I have but wait what what’s a place with the vibe outside England here’s my take on that so if you go to um the hearts mountains to me that area is like Germany’s answer to the Cals if you go to um chinker in Italy that’s Italy’s version of the kwals but you said the burkers the burkers in Western Massachusetts yeah so um the every country has like a place for there are a bunch of little small towns that are just caint and beautiful so that would be that would be my um thing so um hang on sorry this thing kind of zipped this is funny Jenny says Joselyn the Swiss hate children nothing like saying it as it is lovingly to see you both thanks for that because that’s what we’re about it’s like we’re honest I don’t want you go there and thinking they’re gonna love your kids because they’re not yeah you want place you’re gonna love your kids go to go to Italy um Mitch asks mark what was the first international trip you over took did you chose TR start traveling together or did you start and then meet each other so so my first trip abroad like I don’t really remember anything before I met Joslyn so I don’t have I don’t there was like there was darkness and then the light of my life came but uh I think my first my first trip abroad was to Windsor Canada because my grandfather lived in toled Ohio and he took us over there and I still remember when he gave me a quarter from Canada I’m like wow their money so different and I was really impressed so I I remember Windsor Windsor was very different but back then that’s probably the 80s uh late 80s when we were there and I remember that was like the first time I was like that was so cool so that was my first time BR and Canada not I mean I think of you’re I don’t know I think of your first time abroad was like right before we met when you came home from Australia that yeah big trip yeah I went to I went to Australia as an exchange dud in high school yeah so that was my first really big trip abroad and we met right after that I hated him RJ yes she did there’s a whole video we have a whole video about it actually back in the day I love you now all that matters that’s right hi Mark have you ever had any issues with Ryan Air there always seem to be hidden charges oh yeah um I had many times when it was those like oh when espe when they had before that they changed the law where you’d like do the dollar flight or the sorry the pound flight or Euro flight and you get there be like a hundred euros round trip like the heck happened like I some of those J would you like to talk about your phone getting stolen oh yeah I flew from where Madrid to somewhere I don’t know and my my phone was taken right out of my bag and yeah that sucked but it was also my fault because I was the dumbass that put it in my suitcase well the thing was is we flew on that with them before and they said your carryon was fine but then then it wasn’t fine and I didn’t think to take my phone out I just because it’s like at the gate they’re like no now and you’re like ah and you know they they don’t care it was a Blackberry for work and that was debilitating for for a little bit Yeah Yeah War’s cool Stuart I have Warick that’s that’s one worth going to my friend hey good to see you too Stuart by the way Fletcher good to see you Dy what do you think about Rick Steves I think Rick did a really great job to opening Europe to a lot of people like making it um manageable you know that’s why some people give them like some people like I I see online people like kind of rip on him about his stuff being like Oh it’s so simple he just gives you the B I’m like but for a lot of people that’s all they need they just need that because like he gives people the courage it makes it tangible instead of like this big scary thing yeah you know and he’s done a really good job with that and I think and I got I gotta commend him for that so because a lot of people probably wouldn’t have gone it’s like that’s why I get really complimented when people write us like hey you know I didn’t want to travel or scar travel your videos helped us it’s like I can imagine how many millions of people sent that to him so yeah let’s see Ming tan hello going to Portugal next march three days in Lisbon two days in Porto on the other way not retired yet wish I had more days to spend but it is what it is I hear you you’ll have a good time uh three days in Lisbon you probably could fit a day trip or an after like a half day trip to Sentra that would be something I do two days in Porto I I would just spend the time in Porto instead of doing any the day trips from there but uh you could do that you could actually depends how much luggage you had you could actually stop over in like queenb on the train when you’re coming down if you want to see another town but with three and two I know how it is you don’t want how’s your weight last Jour going what are some tips and try to eat healthy during travel hoping the best yeah my weight loss is going great until the like the last seven weeks of travel you know what you know what you need during travel you need your wife to go hey don’t eat that yeah I mean stop yeah so I’m I’m back at it so I’m probably up about 15 from I got to my lowest um yeah but you’re coming back down yeah coming back down we’re both hitting the gym every day and yeah and getting the waters in and and eating better much better yeah not like oh my God it’s so hard when you’re traveling the I think that really what Mark and I need to do personally about food is that um that we need to probably like split meals when there’s stuff that you really want to try but you know it’s not good for you or it’s a mad amount of food really need to do better about and we did we did better like when we were in Milwaukee we were like let’s get two and we were kind of split with well they had like small plates you know like Pinos and stuff so Chris Bates our buddy Mark and sh I’m you’re not 63 oh you’re 62 you’re not 63 yet there you go he said he’s oh this year I I wouldn’t believe it Chris I thought you were like my age I thought you I thought you were 27 just like me anyway I mean I I find it hard to plan a trip to someplace new um go besides going back to the same place I love how do you balance Adventure versus the cover what you know that’s actually a tough one um because I know after strugle we struggle with that one because like especially after Co all all we wanted to do was go see our friends because we have friends all over the world so like 2122 was very much like we’re just going to see FRS we’re going back to see them 23 then we started that’s Israel Jordan Malta got Sno yeah Mal got some new new places and now now we’re trying to get back into that so we’ve been to we were in Chile we were in colia um but we also went but to Brazil to see family and friends so it is it is tough to make that sometimes it’s kind of nice well one we we let the kids kind of choose a place um and Liam’s always about going somewhere new uh Caleb is more based on like his friends and and our friends and stuff sometimes but um it it’s nice to pair things together so like we went to CH which was new for all of us um well no you’ve been to Chile before but but the rest of us and then we comped it with Brazil so it’s kind of cool if you can like put things together and then you get a little bit of both worlds I think that’s kind of nice but hey message me and we’ll chitchat more yeah Tyler yeah we still mostly use Delta but now I’m much more open so for example when I went to Finland this year instead of doing the Delta route I just drove to Chicago and flew direct with fer whereas when a lot cheaper it was a lot cheaper and a couple years ago I had the same option but I was like oh no I fly Delta so I spent the extra money and wasted like a day in airports and now I’m like like no like that that’s one of the things that has changed with how Airlines have treated people not just Delta but like a lot of airlines like there’s like how they’ve all have messed with their reward programs it’s not really you’re not rewarded for flying you’re rewarded for spending money you know yeah it’s really a credit card program now yeah so that’s where it’s kind of changed that favorite credit card for travel rewards honestly I don’t know we’re actually researching that right now to do a video on them because we’re looking to switch our credit cards so then I might as well go through it with you all because how things have changed changed so much we were we Delta card yeah we we had Delta card we all use our Delta cards do everything got flights got all kinds of stuff now it’s like not really worth it like it was so let’s see this person said I went to France and haven’t eaten a single macron what keep fit one macron’s not that bad it won’t kill you share it unless unless it’s the one you grab for and then a bus hits you so be careful or those giant ones those ones as big as your head they’re awful by the way those are awful don’t taste good at all it’s like when they give you like this humongous steaks you’re like no no you wantan to like you want to get the right cut and stuff because otherwise when they do the big size the flavor gets lost it’s like I don’t know I’m not a fan of those crumble cookies they’re so big that they can’t get they’re not baked right I don’t know people love them let’s see so Stockholm uh I like going to um sconsin that’s an outdoor Museum I like doing that uh the vas museum is really cool um there there’s a ton of museums you can see but actually just walk it around uh stockhom is just beautiful um God our water tastes like crap thanks how you drink that because I’m thirsty it does have a weird smell anyway let’s see hey hey Global Nico good to see you hey hey from hot grease time for you guys to come to terone it would be nice I would love to I would love to it’s hard when we go to Greece because we have family and friends me yeah it was kind of like when I used to live abroad i’ come back to the US I never got to visit anything in the US because it would be like I go see Grandma I go see my aunt go see my parents go see my brother you know and then that was that that it’s like time to go back and so I never I have friends who’ve seen so much more of Greece than we have but I mean we got to go to the Village yeah so the village is so Nick says Hey guys my wife and I just got back from Ireland southern Spain that’s a cool trip we love Europe and he suggest for cheap Europe destinations so we can go back so I have a video on cheap destinations I have another new video that’s probably gonna come out the next two Fridays either next week the week after on more cheap destinations some people are like Albania’s become the new like Toronto Albania is the new like buzzword that a lot of people like to talk about and it’s fine but when I look at cheap destination I like cheap destinations that really have a lot of stuff for you um off the top of my head you know you’ve got the Lisbon and Porto and like bigger city ones to do Elizabeth’s got a little bit more expensive but it’s still relatively affordable Prague has somehow stayed affordable as Budapest has got a little bit more expensive um actually actually I can look hold on you answer another question I’ll come back to your question Nick j okay uh justor um so do we plan on going back to Jamaica I would really like to have a friend who lives there um and I would love to go back he live like all sorts of down with Jamaica like that was his Jam um and I think that that is a definite possibility look at this hello Eric B travel adventures with Eric B Eric’s an awesome person and you should TR you should watch um his shows he’s got great stuff on there um and he’s just a good human so he said I flew play Airline and Norse and those were the only those were the only Airlines I’ve ever seen that stay backpack is too heavy to be a personal item I load my backpack up on spirit and they never question it as a personal um yeah they’re just trying to get money right and it’s pretty sucky but like I now you know and now you’ve told all the rest of us so we will be aware of it so thank you for that um hang on that was sorry I’m what’s wrong I don’t know I just got mixed up over in the doohickey over there my wife is your age ah she’s also 27 nice hey castra good to see you um so other other cheaper places in Europe uh I like Liverpool in England anything you go to the north of England is going to be good uh as opposed to like Southern England significally price better Ireland is not the cheap that it used to be but once you get out of Dublin it’s at least doable um where there’s nothing in Scandinavia you go Eastern Europe not Estonia eston’s expensive Lafia is going to R’s fun and affordable um let’s see Poland still works see if you go down yeah those like um Slovenia Slovenia is not cheap though is not cheap you got Croatia still has good deals Croatia is not terrible bulgar Romania has yeah oh Brasov and sasur Romania is also another good one hang on it was one that somebody said we should go to laand and I do want to go one day hey Dennis from the unfriendly B Ares hey I live there I still love Li I still go back so it’s not like a bad thing like that’s the thing is I try to explain the things like it’s like how I had the Danes really unfriendly but I’m like but I totally get contemplating a Mexico City trip our first time visiting for the fall and specific activity food recommendation thanks I do not have anything for Mexico City because I have not been and if I haven’t been how many friends do we have that were born and raised in I know and it’s crazy and then we have I was actually there’s a person at the gym who just was lived in Mexico City for the last seven years oh that lady the new the new lady the new lady it’s so sadly I don’t have any Tish off the top man I’m sorry worst live ever I’m sorry Caroline we’re having our wedding this November congratulation is Norberg Christmas markets a good idea for honeymoon maybe going to be very after I would like a fix of nature hiking snow shoing as well thoughts so uh weekends it’ll be insane um but if you’re there early December it’ll be fine during the week I might look at stay like in bomberg or the hearts mountains Hearts mountains would be really nice mountains gives you the best of both worlds it’s more romantic too it is so romantic beautiful little towns but also you get the nature right there too if that helps Ronnie Dove who I wish I could lose as much weight as him that man looks fantastic Ronnie you’re doing great dude uh what do you think about Catia and may think of doing a week there next May then Australia next August December yeah May’s fine um you just have the cruise yeah take your swim shoes because the Rocks there yeah they’re all Rocky um de bronik will be insane no matter what because the cruise ships uh so be aware of that but it’s still CH is still well worth it and they’ve had so many tours for thousands of years the the food is fantastic they do good service uh so you have a good time they’re running Henry good to see you my friend hey guys of some of the flats there so that’s one of those places where there’s a little bit of a negative connotation of those digital Nomads tourist are fine but the digital Nomads got a little bit of a bad um feeling there so let’s see two girls abroad hey good to see you again started watching videos with my daughter was when my daughter was 13 to take her to Paris 18-year-old to take her to Italy and when I took my first Soldier to Barcelona now watching for 21st birthday to London thanks that’s awesome I’m glad we could be a part of some of your trips to your families those are awesome that’s Saltsburg it’s doable actually you might honestly if you do a Sound of Music Tour from Saltsburg they might actually drive you through there and might be to see that um but it it’s an easy day trip like you you can pull if you got your own car for sure um if you don’t then it’s a little more complicated um but it’s definitely doable okay Ming tons uh the lizin Porto and then add Sevilla and Barca cut Barcelona out of that and you can do it in 10 days yeah because you’re GNA be you’re gonna be too far and it’s faster to drive it to rent a car from like Lisbon and drive to Sevilla than it is to try and do the trains yeah and yeah and there’s no train there’s no there’s no train there was some weird overnight thing there’s not anymore okay they’re bringing it back there used to be a train but there’s not a train because I’m telling you that I telling me that’s just saying don’t even fell so but yeah get because then get to Barcelona you’re gonna have to fly it’s because you’re gonna waste so much time in trains so that would be one thing I would kind of think about let’s [Music] see Mike no doubt you’re great but J is the extra M that’s right that’s right hey gra off off my yeah I’ll be going to the Balkans in 2025 any suggestions anything you’d skip so for the Balkans I’m gonna say like the former Yugoslavia for me ranking the stuff is probably Slovenia and Croatia the top two to go to and then I would put Serbia 3 um you could do like if you just want to do Montenegro like quick like you can take a ferry or bus over from Croatia from De bronck down and just go to um cotor and that could be a nice thing to see there um that’s what those ones I want to focus on if you want to do like I want to be a tour with the tour stuff and think’s prepped if you want to go if you want to be a little more Adventure something you can go like down to Macedonia or North Macedonia um and do that but that would be my kind of advice for there but we have a baby shower to go to here in a little bit so we’re going to hop off in in a couple minutes I just want to let you all know um let’s see so I’ll try to get a few of these last questions came in John good to see you my friend hey nice to see you and Jos on here remember you said you were heading out to Ethiopia is that soon you that’s next next summer looking because my dad’s getting my Dad’s getting old up there and we want he wants to get to he’s interested in doing Egypt and so we to Egypt Ethiopia together next summer so probably be his last like big trip abroad um so that’s where we’re tring to think about that John so thanks buddy uh Nick hi guys next late April London 10 days uh it’s our first to deter days uh it’s our first trip twoo long thoughts yeah too long in London I would do what if you have 10 days you want to take kind of close I would do like three days in London two days in bath um then go up to Chester which is nice a couple days a day in Liverpool then head back down to London and come home or going to London and you can go London for a few day three days then do a couple days in New York couple of days in Liverpool and Chester then down to bath then over that that’s what I’d recommend taco stand with the mission s ah Gotta Go Gotta Go Heidi brings up a good qu good point it seems like shoulder season expanding in Europe are there new month months the best Vis without large crowds so large crowds we weekends pretty much if it’s a popular place there weekends all year round are going to be busy not like not if it’s like a beach place but like the pares and the londons and those those are always going to be busy um but I will say the shoulder season because people are traveling more with their kids but also there’s less kids you know people are like waiting longer to have kids so like they’re traveling more that September because it used to be I remember if I bought a ticket for September 16th it was insanely cheaper than it was like August 16th and now it took now it’s like almost now getting to like October 1 when I get the a lot cheaper tickets versus the summer so I see how those things are kind of expanding now because people trying to avoid the tourist so it is interesting to see how that is kind of changing let’s see scru hey you too I know you’ve lived in a lot of different countries I’m curious Which languages do you do um so English Spanish Portuguese German some Italian little French Little Italian or little Lithuanian so we got we got a few things so we can be good to where we go Portuguese did you say Portuguese yeah Wales will be really cool thanks Yus you’re the best and Garrett yeah we drove in Portugal yeah you’ll be fine once you get out of Lisbon you’re totally fine they just like they have a little bit heavy pedal they have very heavy pedals and I wouldn’t have driven in Lisbon and I lived there for years and I still will drive in Lisbon so you’re ballsier than I am oh thank you Jim and Harry appreciate it’ so nice to see you J we just got back from a monthong tour of Portugal we loved it Jim yeah pugal is one of those places if you want to go to Europe and you want to go a place that has a doesn’t speak English like I used to always tell people when they’re worried about like I want to go to Europe like well if you’re worri about the language England Ireland are both great places no but I want to go someplace that’s more International exotic they don’t speak English you I would tell people to do Scandinavia because of the safety and because like e just get around but now I tell a lot of people like if you’re looking for a good first place in Europe that’s different Portugal’s Portugal’s good people are nice food’s good the do affordable okay stuff so thank you for the Super Chat by the way thank you very much that so Amy any advice to tr with wheelchair companion to mess internationally okay if you’re going to be flying you need to talk to the airline beforehand and I would also talk to the airport so they can make sure everything’s there um also I would make sure you know backup plans in case the airline destroys your wheelchair especially if you have one of the electronic ones or the the mechan like the electric electric ones because that can be something with the power like the power bank kind of stuff in the charger make sure you have those things because I know a few years ago right before Co we were looking to put together a trip for you know students and wheelchairs Bas um there were you know limit Mobility um students to go to Ireland and we had all the stuff we had talk to United and they’re going to help us so we can get the the the the wheelchairs on and everything and it was like it was it was one of those things it’s best to do you know look and see who does the best one also if you’re GNA be wheelchair a lot of places now there’s like foundations and organizations that help wheelchair Travelers enjoy different cities and countries so you might want to look for like chair travel London if you’re going there and they can have a lot of stuff for you we did choose Ireland very specifically because it has the best like Ada type things um my friend recently took her her father on a trip to Hawaii and he had a wheelchair and they went through O’Hare and um ordered the wheelchair they literally had it at the curb for them and they took them through a certain TSA thing and whatever I mean like there were certain things that that were um different but they were really accommodating there so do call and speak to people in like in person not just via email and stuff hi Lori good to see you too hey Lori je where did it go Jessica I did like San Francisco I had a nice time when I was there I had a good time filming really great food um did a lot of the SES so I had a fun time okay so we do have to go because we have to go pick up a friend on the way there so we wish you all a fantastic weekend happy travels I’m going
