The “Lady Superstar” strikes back! Actress Nayanthara has responded to scathing criticism from Cyriac Abby Philips aka The Liver Doc. For those unaware, Philips recently posted an X-rated post slamming the “Jawan” actress for promoting hibiscus tea. In the virulent tweet, the doctor accused the actress of spreading misinformation and refuted her claims that hibiscus tea is a natural antidote to high blood pressure and diabetes.
He later posted a Mark Twain quote without addressing anyone directly: “Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.”
In response, the doctor shared a screenshot of the now-deleted post and commented, “Post deleted. But no apology. No accountability. This is akin to a surgical strike on public health. We need laws that curb this kind of behaviour by celebrities and empower registered doctors (other than Ayush) to provide evidence-based scientific education to make better public health decisions.”
Previously, Dr Philips had debunked Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s claim that nebulising hydrogen peroxide could cure colds and flu.
