Rashami Desai spoke about the time when she was in debt of Rs 3.5 crore and had no home.
Rashami Desai, who first made money after appearing on Colors TV show Uttaran, recently shared that she once experienced homelessness. When he lost his house and had a debt of Rs 3.5 million. She also added that for the four days she slept in her car, an Audi A6. Rashami laughed when she talked about sleeping in her Audi, but added that she ate meals she bought for just Rs 20 and that had small stones in them.
Rashami hinted that this happened soon after her divorce from actor Nandish Sandhu and told Paras Chhabra on his podcast, “I had bought a house during that time. I had a loan of almost Rs 2.5 crore and apart from that… I remember I had a total debt of Rs 3.25-3.5 crore. I thought everything was fine, but suddenly, my show got cancelled.”

She added that she was “on the road for four days. I had an Audi A6 and I slept in that car. All my stuff was at my manager’s house. I was completely isolated from my family. Those days, rickshaw valas I would have a meal for 20 rupees. It used to come in a plastic bag which had daal and chawal mixed together and they gave two rotis “I also had some stones, but I ate them anyway,” said Rashami, who said those four days “were very difficult” for her.

Talking about her emotional state at that time, “I got divorced, even my friends started thinking that I was very difficult because I was not expressive and I kept to myself. My family thought that all my decisions were wrong.” Rashami said that things started changing after she got her next show, Dil Se Dil Tak, where she acted alongside Sidharth Shukla.
“Somehow I managed to pay off my loan, but I was still stressed all the time. I couldn’t sleep. I was working non-stop. At that point, I started thinking that I would rather die,” she shared emotionally. Rashami said that some of her colleagues and team members helped her deal with that phase and that yoga also played a major role in her healing process.
Rashami shared that she eventually had to sell her Audi A6 for Rs 15 lakh as she needed Rs 12 lakh to repay her loan. She laughed and said that after this, she bought an Innova and said, “At least you can sleep in it. The Audi was very uncomfortable to sleep in.”
