“Pachinko” Season 2 has released an official trailer featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s cover of “Viva La Vida”!
Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee, “Pachinko” is a multi-generational saga of war and peace, love and separation, victory and judgment that takes place in Korea, Japan and the United States. This season, actor Kim Sung Kyu will join Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho and Kim Min Ha in the show’s star-studded cast.
Set in Osaka in 1945, the trailer shows the reunion of Sunja (Kim Min Ha) and Hansu (Lee Min Ho) and introduces new cast members, including Kim Sung Kyu. Set against the backdrop of World War II, this season tells the story of a woman who fights to protect her family, even by making dangerous decisions. It also intersects with the story of Solomon (Jin Ha), who must start over with nothing in Tokyo in 1989, and that of Sunja (Youn Yuh Jung), who worries about her grandson.
Additionally, BLACKPINK’s Rosé reinterpretation of “Viva La Vida” is gaining attention. Not only is the song featured in the trailer, but it is also the ending song for the final episode of “Pachinko” Season 2, providing a powerful and lasting conclusion to the series.
