New Delhi:
Rhea Chakraborty started anew with her podcast show Episode 2 On Saturday, Rhea opened up about her personal life, current financial situation and the polarised public opinion about her following Sushant Singh Rajput’s death with the first guest, Sushmita Sen. On the curiosity about how she manages her expenses, Rhea said, “It’s okay, people don’t know what I do anymore. I don’t act in films, I do other things, I give motivational talks and that’s how I make my money.”
Rhea also revealed that the name of her show is inspired by her life. She continued, “Everyone knows my ‘chapter one’ or assumes they do. I went through a lot of phases where I felt different emotions, I was different versions of myself. Ultimately, I feel more like me, but a newer version, like a rebirth. And I want to celebrate that with anyone who has a ‘chapter two.’ I want to say it’s okay to have a chapter two, to start over, to move forward in life. I want to celebrate change.”
During the same conversation, Rhea shared what she considers to be her superpower – she can polarise any room she walks into. While some people hail her as a resilient woman, others still call her a “witch”. “I often joke that I have a huge superpower. I walk into a room and I can polarise it! Half of them would think, ‘She has done something, she is a witch, she practices black magic’, and the other half would think, ‘She is a strong girl who fought back, she had courage’. I can feel it the moment I walk into a room. I will experience it at the dentist clinic, the gym, the airport. This has also made me understand that it doesn’t matter. Those who love you, great, those who hate you, that’s okay too, it doesn’t matter,” the actor said.
In September 2020, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested and sent to Mumbai’s Byculla Jail on drug charges related to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. She was accused of procuring and supplying drugs to the late actor. The actress was released on bail after 28 days. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai in June 2020.
Rhea Chakraborty has appeared in reality shows like TVS Scooty Teen Diva, Pepsi MTV Wassup and Gone in 60 Seconds. She has acted in films like Tuneega Tuneega, Half Girlfriend and Jalebi. She was last seen in Chehre alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.
