Sumona Chakravarti has finally returned to India after filming Khatron Ke Khiladi 14 in Romania. While she was away from here, a report circulated claiming that she did not quit The Kapil Sharma Show out of her own choice but was not informed about the comedian’s new show, The Great Indian Kapil Show. It was also claimed that Sumona was disheartened and “upset” with Kapil. However, the former Bade Achhe Lagte Hai actress has now clarified that this is not the case.

In an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Sumona Chakravarti made it clear that she was not fired from Kapil Sharma’s show. “It’s very strange because literally a few days ago, a very good article came out. I had spoken to a journalist and he had said the exact opposite. Then of course two days later, another publication decided to write an article saying the exact opposite. I had nothing to say because I was in Romania as well,” she said.

“I have said it time and again, I was part of a show which ended in July last year and it is not like you exited or I quit or I got fired, the show ended in July and after that, we all moved on. We resumed our individual projects after that. I am doing Khatron Ke Khiladi. He (Kapil Sharma) did another show. It is just that there is no bad blood at all. Why would I be angry (with Kapil)? He and I worked together before and I went to Romania,” she said.

Asked if she gets discouraged when she reads negative reports about herself, the 36-year-old actress explained: “Not anymore. In my time, maybe 20 years ago, when I started my career, maybe yes. I’m too old for this now. And I have a very simple phrase that I say quite often and I will say it now as well: your opinion of me is not my responsibility.”

While Sumona was not a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show, she will soon be seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, which is set to premiere on July 27. Talking about it, the actress said, “To be honest, I surprised myself. So yes, I did. I mean, looking back, I am very excited for the show to go on air because I want to see myself. I want to see how I did it, what I did.”
