New Kapila He’s been in the news lately for being in Samay Raina‘s roast where the influencer turned actress was ridiculed for her divorce with Zorawar Singh AhluwaliaKusha attended the talk, which included many jokes about her marriage, her divorce and even her sex life.
In the middle of roasting, Kusha has dropped a cryptic note Now, on her Instagram stories, you can read: “When someone tries to take power away from you, it’s their trash. It’s not yours to keep. Let it slip away.” She shared the post with the song ‘Move’ by Curtis Mayfield.
Kusha was also asked why she sat through such mockery. To clarify her stance, Kusha said in her YouTube community notes: “Friends, a recent mockery I was a part of led many of my female and queer followers to question why I sat through something that could have been completely avoided and WITH GOOD REASON. Here’s my take: I did this in good faith and for a friend. No one (comedians or guests) was paid for it, so the argument that people are “getting paid big checks to listen to their insults” is unfounded.”
She further revealed that she had not seen the script for the show before it was filmed. “The jokes were not shared beforehand (as is done in all joke formats in the West), so I had no idea what to expect. Maybe I should have asked for a script and known, but since there were friends involved, I didn’t. It was a rookie mistake. While I endured some of the really rough jokes in front of a live audience and technicians, I was not at all okay with it being played out for millions of people as some jokes directly dehumanised me. It was shockingly cruel,” she said.
Kusha also added that since that episode, she is reviewing her contracts and agreements very carefully and negotiating every word. She said that this incident was a great learning experience for her and many others as well.
